What’s even better than Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday all rolled into one? It’s “#GivingTuesday.” “What’s that?” you ask.
What is “#Giving Tuesday”?
#GivingTuesday is a movement that started a year ago. Its sole purpose is to “create a national day of giving at the start of the annual holiday season [to] … support non-profit organizations.” These organizations range from food pantries to educational institutions to research groups that study climate change.
Non-profit organizations are often the unsung heroes of our communities, providing critical services found nowhere else.
Consider The Sustany® Foundation – Your Tampa Bay-based non-profit
After the bang-up results from the Sustainable Buzz, Sustany® will have a bigger impact in 2014 than ever before. Its educational programs for kids, sustainable business program for local businesses, and mini-grants for sustainability projects will continue.
But new programs are also planned, including Comm[YOU]nity, which will match non-profits needing specific skills with volunteers that have those skills. Volunteers may be high school students needing CAS hours, retirees looking to stay active and engaged, and just about everyone in between. There is no lack of good work needing to be done, and Sustany® will make it easier for good people to find volunteer work they enjoy.
Wishing you a wonderful start to your holiday season!
