We Make The Business Case For Sustainability
The Sustainable Business Program was specifically designed to help promote businesses and organizations in the Tampa Bay area that embrace the triple bottom line and demonstrate a commitment to social responsibility and environmental stewardship. Everyone in our portfolio of companies demonstrates that sound environmental practices are not only good for our environment and our economy, but also serve as important examples for each of their sectors. Each of our companies have demonstrated that sound environmental practices are not only good for our environment and our economy, but also serve as important examples for each of their sectors. Here’s an example of how our businesses continue to make the business case for sustainability:
- Businesses are regularly investing in wetland or other ecosystem restoration projects.
- Styrofoam free initiatives- eliminating Styrofoam from headquarters and 50+ field offices throughout the U.S. by supplying all employees with reusable cups.
- Eliminating single use plastics from business operations and local supply chains.
- Innovating ways to achieve zero waste and recycling or repurposing items that would otherwise not decompose in a landfill.
- Providing nutritious food to under-served communities as well as nutrition education and diverting precious food waste from landfills.
- Bringing sustainability initiatives into the fashion industry to create an empowering culture rather than one that is often toxic to the environment, mental health, and social equity.
- Offering free educational opportunities for the community and/or continuing education scholarships for employees, including certification programs from transitioning veterans, women, minorities, and other underrepresented groups.
- Most are supporting the growth and development of other local businesses; some have even created a platform for new and innovative industries to emerge.
Join our roster of businesses who understand that responsible business is good business.
We shine a spotlight on the very best projects across multiple sectors, which drive us forward to deliver a sustainable future for everyone.
