Sustainability@Work Announced

Hillsborough County and The Sustany Foundation to help local businesses Go Green
Kick Off March 11th!

TAMPA, FL – The Sustany Foundation has received funding support from Hillsborough County to launch a new program that provides workshops, classes and one-on-one mentoring to Hillsborough County businesses interested in becoming more sustainable. It was introduced by Commissioner Kemp and was unanimously supported by the Board of County Commissioners to further sustainability initiatives in the County and help local businesses.  The first workshop is scheduled for Wednesday March 11th.

Sustainability@Work is a series of free monthly workshops designed for start-ups and small businesses. The workshops will address why it is important to consider implementing these practices in the start-up phase and how to leverage these actions into greater cost savings, market share and profitability.

Participants will have the opportunity to meet and hear from local sustainability experts, green teams and other businesses. The goal is to provide a practical approach and a few simple actions with each session that all participants can implement immediately following the workshop. After each workshop, attendees will be able to:

  • Understand the sustainability concept presented and how to apply it to their business

  • Have at least one sustainable action that can be easily and immediately implemented

  • Know where to go for assistance or additional resources on the topic

Participants may attend one, some, or all of the sessions. Workshops will take place monthly at the Entrepreneur Collaborative Center (ECC), 2101 E. Palm Avenue, Tampa FL 33605 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM.
